{"id":123,"date":"2020-12-09T05:16:05","date_gmt":"2020-12-09T05:16:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/productiondev.com\/mrcnsdev\/?p=123"},"modified":"2021-01-21T05:35:59","modified_gmt":"2021-01-21T05:35:59","slug":"title-would-go-here-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/productiondev.com\/mrcnsdev\/title-would-go-here-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Ordering and Administering of COVID19 Tests Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Midwifery Regulatory Council of Nova Scotia approved Registered Midwives in Nova Scotia to Order and Administer COVID19 tests during our November 19th Board Meeting.<br>Our policy states:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nova Scotia\u2019s Registered Midwives can order and administer COVID -19 tests only for clients in their care and their newborns, and according to the current protocols established by the NSHA\/IWK.&nbsp; Midwives must follow up on test results in a timely manner and provide follow up care as per current provincial guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision to administer a COVID-19 test will depend on current protocol established by the NSHA\/IWK,&nbsp; receiving the appropriate training to ensure the task can be performed safely, access to test kits, the client\u2019s condition and other community resources that offer testing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first choice, if needed must be to refer clients with symptoms to centralized assessment sites, where providers have access to screening, swabs and adequate PPE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Should you have any questions, contact Jenny Wright, MRCNS Registrar <a href=\"mailto:Jenny.wright@novascotia.ca\" data-type=\"mailto\" data-id=\"mailto:Jenny.wright@novascotia.ca\">&nbsp;Jenny.wright@novascotia.ca<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Midwifery Regulatory Council of Nova Scotia approved Registered Midwives in Nova Scotia to Order and Administer COVID19 tests during&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":416,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v19.10 -
