Project Description

Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) is investigating potential candidates for Adaptive Phased Management (APM), Canada’s plan for long-term management of used nuclear fuel. Palmer, in partnership with Avaanz and Keir Corp, compiled and reviewed information on sand and gravel deposits to determine the quality, quantity and availability of aggregate in the region required to support the infrastructure necessary for the South Bruce, Ontario project.

Our surficial geologists prepared an inventory of existing and potential sand and gravel aggregate resources based on provincial databases and regional-scale surficial geology mapping. Our multi-disciplinary team evaluated suitability for different applications and screened the resources for potential environmental constraints.
