Project Description

Palmer was retained by Associated Engineering to support the planning, design, and construction of a gravity sanitary sewer crossing of East Don River north of Sheppard Avenue in Toronto, Ontario. To determine an optimal location for the sewer crossing, we completed fluvial geomorphology, terrestrial ecology (including arborist services), and aquatic ecology characterization reports. Our team also provided geotechnical engineering, hydrogeology, and environmental due diligence support.

We provided input throughout the design process for the required channel restoration and stabilization, removal of a derelict weir, and the restoration of river riparian zones. Palmer led the environmental permitting for the project, securing approvals from multiple agencies, and conducted as-needed inspections during construction.
